On Friday April 29th, Senator Larissa Waters spoke with members of the Women’s House Shelta collective about funding for women’s domestic violence refuges.
Reproduction, pregnancy and abortion are seen as ‘women only issues’ and Amanda Bradley asks the very important question, ‘Why?’ in her TEDx talk. A leader in the non-for-profit and public health sector with her work for Children by Choice, Amanda examines the impact our attitudes towards reproductive health have on equality.
Saturday’s Courier Mail included a fantastic article written by Kathleen Noonan about the Women’s House bus and the important contribution it has made to the safety of women and children escaping violence.
Women’s House Shelta has begun a women’s walking group for the purpose of health and socialising (all fitness levels welcome!). We meet each Monday at 9:30 at 15 Morrisey Street, Woolloongabba and walk for about an hour. Children are welcome to attend.
Women’s House is a feminist organisation. We work with women who have experienced violence.
